Gospel According To Wyatt #08 [Music, America] — Wyatt @ 9:49 am

Hullo…I’m sorry I didn’t write sooner, but Father Christmas came and he and I had a horrid row about some nonsense before we had some tea and crumpets…anyway please enjoy this gospel. It is quite humourous and you will have a jolly good time chap.

Good lord, now that I got Edmund out of here, todays topic will be musical help for those who hate Limp Bizkit and cannot find anything to eat or listen to.

Weezer

Weezer

Originally I wasn’t to fond of Weezer, but the advent of Korn caused me to start liking a large amount of music I was originally not fond of. Weezer are a really good band despite of (or maybe because of) the fact that they are total dorks. Anyway check out their albums.
Fave Track: “Tired of Sex” off the album, Pinkerton.

Kill Rock Stars

Not a band but a record label. They got loads of boss bands on it. Bikini Kill, Sleater-Kinney, Unwound, and Frumpies are all fun bands. Their webpage has lots of MP3s for download so head over there and check out some bands.

Sleater-Kinney
Sleater-Kinney

Somewhere between the Go-Go’s and Hole is Sleater-Kinney. They are kind of punk, kind of dance pop, kind of weird. Anyway I mentioned them above in the KRS section so you can head over to that zone for more info on them. Here’s a quote from one of them, which is further proof they’re a good idea, “[Henry] Rollins performed atop an exercise mat, because he plays in bare feet. Actually, most everything is bared on Rollins except for what his tiny soccer shorts cover, which isn’t much.”
Fave Track: “Dance Song ‘97″ on Dig Me Out record.

Shonen Knife

Shonen Knife

Bizzaro Japanese girl band. They write alot of songs about food and cover alot of Ramones. They are odd characters and have some fun tunes. Check out the album Let’s Knife, which is a very good name for an album by the way.
Fave Track: “Flying Jelly Attack” on Lets Knife.

Lionel Richie

Lionel Richie

Seriously OMG Lionel Richie is radical. He has such soul and feelings in his works all the way back to his days in the Commadores…come on “Brick House?” FUCK YEAH! Thats what I thought…you can not deny that which is Lionel Richie! FEEL THE POWER!!!! HE’S FUCKING DANCING ON THE CEILING DUDE! HOW CAN YOU BEAT THAT? ‘SUP PUNK?

LIONEL: Yo you steppin’? THAT’S WHAT I THOUGHT PUNK…YOU BEST RESPECT!!!!!!!!
No seriously though despite the fact that “Hello,” is one of the funniest songs I know of Lionel doesn’t really make the list this time. Better luck next time buddy.

Well I think that about does it for this time…hold on a second. Here’s a list of other random bands that are worth checking out: Sunny Day Real Estate, Death Cab for Cutie, Get Up Kids, Sonic Youth, Bangs, Pixies, Afgahn Wigs, and umm…Chad Hefner (not really a band).

Ok for real this time, I’m outta here. I’ll see you all next time. If you got suggestions of other bands for me lemme know. Otherwise I think next week will be a walkthru for the video game Tetris or my interview with Stone Temple Pilots and Stone Wall Jackson.
