Checklist of Events [Korea, My Life] — Wyatt @ 10:51 am

Checklist

Some randomness went down this weekend. I don’t feel like typing this like complete sentences, so instead I found this checklist card from the Wyatt Trade Card Set™ and we’re going to check off the junks accomplished this weekend.

Saturday
√ Went to my girlfriend’s house for lunch.
√ Ate 비빔국수 (bibimguksu / mixed noodles).
Unexpectedly met her mother and was subsequently interrogated.
√ Went for a bike ride at a creek and was caught in the rain.
√ Had some dinner (김치볶음밥 / kimchi fried rice).
√ Recieved a box of kimchi to take home with me.
√ Returned to my home and watched The Notebook.

Sunday
√ Met my girlfriend for lunch in 모란 (Moran).
√ Encountered my girlfriend’s mother on the street.
√ Got some lunch (만두, 오뎅, 참치찌개).
√ Went to a library.
√ Got some books about really weird stuff: North Korean dialect, the downfall of the Korean language due to foreign influence, and Sino-Korean words used on the Korean pennisula.
√ Headed to 혜화 (Hyehwa) to meet some of my girlfriend’s co-workers.
√ Ate 찜닭 and then headed to a bar for some drinks.
√ Soju Cocktails, and 오십세주 (백세주 + 소주 = 오십세주) . Conversation about completely random junks.
√ Headed home and went to sleep.

That about does it for now. Perhaps a more detailed account of my Spainish Inquisition that went down on Saturday will be written up in detail later when I have the time or motivation to do so.

  1. “junks” is supposed to be “junk.” You’ve been around Koreans too much; even when they attain considerable fluency in English, they can never seem to catch the idea that the word, as commonly used in English, lacks plural and singular forms. “Junks” would be the plural form of the word used to describe Chinese boats.

The remedy: converse with some round-eyes from time to time.

  2. Yes Wyatt, I think I also spotted an occasion 4 weeks ago when you used the phrase
“Then I got my eat on yo”- when I think the correct form should have been
“Then I got all eat up yo”

Drinking on a Sunday eh? Forshame

  3. Hope the interrogation went relatively well once the dust settled…

  4. You guys don’t really know my brother and how he talks. All those things you claim he wrote incorrectly are actually phrases he uses when he talks. (Obviously not proper grammar, but, whatever).

Plus, what swiss james wrote as a correction doesn’t even make sense anyway.

Mmm hmm…I hate the grammar police.

  5. Sarcasm doesn’t come over well online does it?

  6. Swiss James,
No it doesn’t, and if I was some sort of Bill Gates-esque computer overlord I would work on creating a sarcasm exclusive font. That way people would know, “ah that guy’s not being serious!” But alas, I am no such computer programmer. :(
