Wyatt, thanks for the excellent video ... it was actually kind of sad. As you can see even people in the north long to be united and suffer the pain of seperation. So inspite of the repressive government, they still have human yearnings and somehow that was allow to be shown in their media. I don't understand why people wonder what is the purpose of your blog. It's your blog and you can put whatever you want to put on it!!! Take care.

Bob,
I don't know of any blog that have points other ranting about random stuff going on in the writer's life or "pundits" who like to pretend that they are on Meet The Press.

So I guess the point of this blog is to hook up interested parties with some info about life in South Korea, and also provide some information about Korean music (since that's what I am interested in).

Bob,

As a faithful reader of this blog I can say that if by “point” you meant something along the lines of a riot/looting planning forum for a revolutionary political group, or a launching pad for a pyramid scheme, or some other equally logistically based function you will in fact be disappointed. On the other hand, if you have ever spent much time in Asia, or ever plan to do so you will find Kimchi and Me informative, entertaining and relevant. It’s a meaningful read in the sense that writer and reader can engage in the transaction of ideas and agree on the significance or insignificance of events with a common thread between writer and reader.
Alternatively, if you never intend to leave Detroit but are looking for music more indie than the next guy’s you can often learn about an up and coming Korean punk band or the like.

Damn, Wyatt...wish I were there to witness your noraebang rendition of that uplifting tune. Mind you, it wouldn't be complete without a few jumps off the furniture, perhaps the removal of shirts, and maybe you could actually put to use one of those tamborines they always seem to have sitting around those places.
