西洋오랑캐 :: Hard Bastard

西洋오랑캐

Hard Bastard

This movie was a 1970s Hong Kong action movie and therefore is automatically cheesy. Some dude (let's call him Hard Bastard), his fiance and her brother are traveling salesmen who sell some bogus cureall. They set up shop in a town and run into some trouble with a local gang. A noodle salesman joins them as does one of the mobsters sons. Anyway Hard Bastard vows to save some girl named Ling Ling. Hard Bastard's fiance falls in love with one of the gangsters son. Fast forward a bit...Ling Ling and the mobsters son die. So noodle man, Hard Bastard, fiance, and brother fight gangsters in a final battle. Hard Bastard and some Chinese dude (I guess he was the last boss) fight near ocean where Hard Bastard kicks him into the ocean and wins the game.
REVIEW: This movie was lacking in what one might call plot, but there was some nice Kung Fu violence. The way Hard Bastard wins is hilarious, aka slow motion kicks at a guy where the guy falls in the ocean and dies. They used the word "bastard" quite a bit during the movie. Some of the lines were really funny such as "Bears can't untie rope."
